Course Description
This short course is based upon the revised Code of Ethics published by CAMFT (California Marriage and Family Therapists). It includes applicable California law which governs California Marriage and Family Therapists, Supervisors, Educators, Interns, Students & Trainees.
Course Objectives
1. Identify California laws and regulations governing the conduct of licensed marriage and family therapists including responsibility to patients, confidentiality, and professional competence and integrity.
2. Evaluate CAMFT regulations pertaining to relationships between supervisors, students, supervisees, and colleagues.
3. Determine the scope of authority of the Ethics Committee and identify procedures for hearings before the Board of Directors.
